People-Friendly Polish

People-friendly nail polish

It’s great to know that as my daughter reaches the age where she insists on wearing mommy’s nail polish (two years old!), that there is a nail brand that cares.

butter LONDON call themselves a 3 Free company, meaning their products are completely free from FORMALDEHYDE, TOLUENE AND DBP.

Awesome, it’s about time this started to happen. (Why would you want to walk around wearing the same toxins used in car paint and embalming fluid?!) Toxic.

It’s scary to think that most major nail brands still use chemicals so toxic that they have been known to cause severe illnesses. There is no requirement by the US FDA to monitor the use of these carcinogenic chemicals in our cosmeticsThere is no requirement by the US FDA to monitor the use of these carcinogenic chemicals in our cosmetics, which means that they are probably far more present than you would think.

The other day, I had noticed a friend wearing a gorgeous shade of blue on her toes – yes blue, not normally something I would go for, but this shade was particularly pretty and a little muted. When she told me that it was free from nasties, I went straight to the department store to check out the range.

I must say, i was very pleased with the range, it’s huge! Such gorgeous colors, I’m a sucker for smoky muted tones, which there were plenty of and no shortage of strong crisp colors either, all with a total fashion edge and cute British names. It was very, very hard to choose. I’m starting with “artful dodger” -the afore mentioned blue, but it will only be the start of my collection, I think I’m hooked.

Oh, and it has stayed put for a week without chipping, who needs dangerous chemicals to look good!

Bring on the conscious beauty revolution.
